FOTA FELLOWS

During the 2017-2018 academic year, FOTA supported its inaugural class of FOTA Fellows - a newly conceptualized fellowship providing resources, lecture series, biweekly meetings and field trips for over 20 artists who do not receive resources to pursue interests through the Department of Visual Arts.

By joining FOTA Fellows, students have the opportunity to network and unite with a tight knit community of artists. 

Workshops

From attending intimate panels with UChicago MFA students to participating in master classes with established artists, FOTA Fellows develop their own artistic practice through organized programming.

Field Trips

Chicago is a cultural hub in the United States with innovative artists in every neighborhood. FOTA Fellows have the chance to take field trips to visit studios and meet talented community artists beyond the confines of campus.

How to join

We are planning to recruit for our 2020 - 2021 FOTA Fellowship on the 8th week of Fall Quarter. If you are an artist - by any definition of the term - you are welcome to join! Our cohort has previously included visual artists, musicians, photographers, writers, film makers and more.
